RAGE.

At a late-night White House meeting between the president and key congressional leaders, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) made clear that his conference would not approve funding for the government if any money were allowed to flow to Planned Parenthood through legislation known as Title X. "This comes down to women's health issues related to Title X," a person in the meeting told HuffPost.

Planned Parenthood is such a horrible organization that you'd rather furlough federal employees (like my mother), not pay our soldiers (I am so fucking glad he's retired now), and not give people their tax refunds. But Congress still needs to get paid! They need that $174K+ a year so badly.

Here's a lovely little quote from freshman Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), whose salary is $174K:

"I guarantee most of you, I have more debt than all of you. With six kids, I still pay off my student loans. I still pay my mortgage. I drive a used minivan. If you think I'm living high off the hog, I've got one paycheck. So I struggle to meet my bills right now."

There are people with three or more kids, student loans, and used cars managing to live on $35K a year. Cry me a fucking river.

Conservative activists have long been pushing for cultural riders and, with Republicans back in control the House, have a chance to push them forward. "Why can't you slash Planned Parenthood and NPR and these -- these non-vital programs? Why can't you slash them?" Fox News host Bill O'Reilly demanded of Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) Thursday evening.

"Well, we're talking about health care. We're talking about education," Rangel replied.

"Health care is another matter," O'Reilly said. "That has to be taken very methodically because people's lives are affected. Nobody's life is affected by NPR. Nobody's life is affected by Planned Parenthood. These are options."

THANKS, O'REILLY, FOR LETTING ME KNOW THAT YOU THINK WOMEN AND POOR PEOPLE ARE WORTHLESS. FUCK YOU VERY MUCH.

I am so fucking sick of the government in this country.

I'm sick of the Republicans because of their war on women, the poor, and minorities.

I'm sick of the Democrats trying to pander to the Religious Right, and not having a fucking spine.

Why are people allowing this shit to happen?

I have a confession to make.

Back when I was in high school, I took birth control pills. I had bad acne, and needed something to control it until my hormones stabilized.

This means that I was also a whore.

Somehow, I managed to be a whore without having ever had sex with (or kissed) anyone, even to this day. That right there is an incredible feat, don't you think?

I understand completely if anybody wants to cut off all ties with me because I was a whore. No hard feelings.

......

I promise I will do a post tomorrow night on something other than women's rights or politics.

FINALS ARE DONE. SEMESTER IS OVER. FIVE SEMESTERS LEFT.

Meridath was allowed to take one guest with her to her work Christmas party and invited me. It was mostly older people there, but it was kinda fun! There was good food, we played a fun game, and I happened to sit next to someone that was retired Navy.

Best thing: on the way back, I told her about how I need to find a Fonrar. She. She offered. OH MY GOD A FONRAR. /spazzes

AND THANK YOU JESS, LYNX AND SHOCKERS ERICA. I got your cards. :3

Politics yaaaaay )

I am not even fucking kidding.

If for some emergency I have to fly, I happen to be on my period, and they tell me to remove my tampon during the gropefest, I will tell them that shit. One woman's already been made to remove her pad.

I refuse to go through the porno/radiation scanners, and I refuse to go to a private room for the gropefest. I want witnesses to lessen the chance of them groping me more than they're already ordered to do, and to help back me up if they do.

This is something I said in another post about the TSA's fuckery:

...that's how it's supposed to be in the States, re: same sex person patting you down. Not only does that cause a lot of problems for people that are gay/bi/intersex/trans/whatever else doesn't fit the binary, it doesn't completely remove the risk of a TSA employee feeling you up for personal enjoyment. For all I know, the female employee patting me (I identify as a straight cis female) down might grope me even more unnecessarily than she's already ordered to.

I forgot to mention sexual assault victims, the disabled/handicapped, and those whose faiths don't allow anyone, even a doctor, to touch certain parts of the body.

This shit needs to stop. It shouldn't have ever started in the first place.
